Electric longboards have changed the game when it comes to commuting short distances. When I heard about electric powered skateboards, I immediately got on my computer and researched how I could get one. Not only that but I wanted to make sure I picked the best one before I blew over 500 bucks on one! I also showed a few of my friends at the time and I ended up inspiring one of my friends to purchase the Yuneec E-GO Cruiser.
Needless to say, when it came in mail, I made him let me take it for a spin! I honestly haven’t felt as much joy as I did riding that thing since I was a kid! This thing cruises! It also has a very impressive battery life, I drove well over 10 miles and it never died on me. The only downside is the top speed is 13MPH, but because of this, you get a really good battery life. So it’s a pro and a con at the same time I guess.

Now that I had tried an electric longboard for myself, I knew that I wanted to invest in one. The only con for me with the EGO cruiser was the top speed really wasn’t sufficient for me. I am an avid longboarder and love hitting speeds of 20MPH and higher! I did a little bit of research and found a company called Boosted. They have 3 different versions of their Boosted Board. The 3 models are all basically the same except their motors are all different.
The most basic model The Boosted Single has a 1000W motor, and has a top speed of 18MPH and the battery range is 8 miles. This model is for the casual rider, maybe someone who’s more concerned about how far they can get versus how fast they can go. The Boosted Single is called the single because of it has one 1000W motor that drives one set of wheels.
The next best model is the Boosted Dual, which has a 1500W motor and a top speed of 20 MPH. The range is 7 miles on this one. This model is a bit more pricy and offers a little bit faster speed but it won’t get you as far as the single. This model is slightly better at travelling up hills than the Single. In my opinion if your going to upgrade from the Single, it’s worth the extra money to upgrade to the best model. I really don’t see why you’d spend extra money and not get the best model.
Finally the best model they carry is the Boosted Dual +. This model has a top speed of 22MPH and a range of 7 miles. The price tag on the best model is 1500 dollars so it took a little bit of saving but I finally made the purchase. I bought this longboard off Amazon for 1435$ with free shipping, so I got a better price than if I were to buy it from the companies website!
I was really impressed with this product. Obviously it’s pretty expensive, but in my opinion it saves you money in the long run. At least for me it does. I live in the city, and my house is 5 miles from my house, so most days instead of using my car to commute to work, I ride my Boosted board.
The amount of money this device saves me on fuel each month is crazy. Not to mention it’s way more enjoyable to ride to work than a car, no more morning rush hour road rage.
I would seriously recommend that anyone who can afford one of these things, go to Amazon and buy one immediately. I promise you will not be disappointed.
